How Do I book a Tour?
We have 2 Reservation procedures:

#1 Please send an e-mail to

  • Which tour(s) would you like to   attend?
  • Dates you will be visiting the area?
  • Which hotel or (cruise) should we pick-you up? (to give you a pick up time)
  • Number of attendees. 
  • NOTE: if we don't answer right away we might be on field leading , but we will answer     e-mails at late afternoon.(thank you for your comprehension) 
#2 You will receive via e-mail a confirmation letter  with the pick-up time, confirmation code-number, the details of your reservation and be requested to make a minimum deposit , we will send you a PayPal request, You will be all set until the day of excursion.
#3  when you arrive to your hotel please send us your room number and advice the concierge or front desk clerk that you are going to be pick-up to go birding 
 
#4 be at the pick-up time & place mentioned in your confirmation letter 
#5 when you get pick up present the confirmation letter to the driver-guide and please pay the balance , sign waver
#6 Enjoy your tour

How Do Prices work?:

We require a minimum of   attendees to operate any tour and cover the cost  Due the same reason we have a calendar to group visitors with open dates and we are constantly advertising and promoting to share the cost among participants , our intention is not to be reach but to provide our services and create jobs for Mexicans .


When you make a reservation we will ask for a minimum deposit to ensure your participation , the balance will be determinate by the number of participants the day of program. 


All programs are limited to 6-10 attendees  depending on program

BS1: We will pick you up early at your hotel to go birding Sierra la laguna Biosphere reserve in search of Cape pygmy owl , San Lucas robin , Baird's junco , Acorn woodpecker and many more sub species such as band-tailed pigeon , vireos, flycatchers, buntings  and many more , enjoy beautiful landscape , and much more.

BS2: same as above but we will overnight and ascend next morning again to increase our chances to enjoy the endemics specially owls.

 San Jose Estuary - Guided

Description:   Join us on a Guided walk at the estuary and learn about the conservation program launched by the local NGO's in coordination with Audubon and Sonoran Joint venture we will learn not only about the birds but the local history thought the eyes of a local naturalist.  

Goal:  To experience the estuary on a guided walk with focus on birding but also in local history and conservation program . along the walk we have positive chance to encounter the endemics , resident , migrant & vagrant birds.

  Birding Pelagic - Boat tour

Introduction: We don't need to go too far away to enjoy pelagic life so these is specially for visitors sensitive to motion sickness who might not be able to participate somewhere else where pelagic trips involve several days or many miles into the ocean , the guide will explain why here is so different and it is the reason why we offer only 1/2 a day and will enjoy pelagic birds and some other marine life. 
Description:  Get on a boat in search of Pelagic such as Black storm petrel , Least storm petrel, Wedge-rumped storm petrel , Pink-footed shearwater, Black-vented shearwater , brown booby ,blue footed booby, mask and nazca boobies, terns,  Cormorants, Craveri's murrelets  among others in addition try your fishing skills (at additional cost) and let's see what you catch ! , positive chances to enjoy other marine life such as dolphins , sea-lions , on season whales

Description: Nesting is one of the most interesting  behavior to observe and photograph . birds are very creative to attract females , enjoy their display 

During these excursion we visit nesting sites of  boobies , herons , gulls , terns and perhaps oystercatchers,  we will enjoy them , observe them , mating , nesting , feeding chicks , training them and learn about their interesting cycles of life also encounter with many resident , migrant and vagrant birds.

Description: Enjoy birding and the underwater world , you don't need to be experienced diver ,and learn about the natural world ,  after going birding in search of the endemics we will go to a diving school , a professional certified dive-master will give you a theory class , then we will go to practice and enjoy the underwater world , to a beautiful area nearby , you will feel as if you jumped into a large fishbowl the dive-master will be with you at all times and you can enjoy hundreds and hundreds of colorful fish  if you like it and you want to get certified diver that resort - dive counts as your first practice.

If you want to ensure 95%  to see the most secretive endemics such as baird's junco, san lucas robin , cape/baja pygmy owl , California gnatcatcher , acorn woodpecker, vireos among other interesting birds we must take you to the rim of Sierra la laguna .

we will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the rim of sierra by hiking & mule riding , go birding of course,  along the excursion you will learn about history , natural history , geology , traditions while enjoy the ride  it will be a successful memorable birding , the excursion is moderate, it is also appropriate for non birders but nature lovers.

  • Reviews from previous experience visitors: Guided trip with experienced leaders of Birding Los Cabos.  This was a two day trip to the rim of the Sierra de la Laguna biosphere  that required a 6 hour mule ride up and down the mountain.  The mule ride was essential for maintaining endurance for the birding at the locations to be explored.  The area is rural, rugged trail and country for the experience or well planned only.  Some tourists got lost in the  region for 1-2 weeks, so care is needed to explore the area.  Permits and logistics are also tricky, so I would recommend the guided experience of this trip!  The mule ride is moderate with strenuous ascents and descents.  The hiking is mild to moderate.  One of your best opportunities to see endemic Pygmy Owl, Xantus' Hummingbird and San Lucas Robin baird's junco and other sub-species.
